Some words from our kitten's parents :
"After owning Maine Coons as pets since 1994, I decided to get into showing and breeding this magnificent breed in 2014/2015. I had a mentor for a year and was having trouble finding the perfect kitten to show and use as a foundation cat for my own breeding program. Enter DCFD, the wonderful Buscavages, who breed the type of Maine Coons that I find most attractive, and as it turns out, are some of the most friendly, helpful and accommodating people in the cat world today! Chuck spent an hour on the phone with me on my first inquiry, just happily talking about his cats and their breeding program, and then Karen and I got along like buddies after that. And now, as I sit here writing this, I have a purring little Maine Coon girl sleeping on my chest (Dis, formerly Jeanette) that will give me years of joy and with her beauty and personality, no doubt give me some fine kittens some day! I cannot speak highly enough about this couple. They are extremely professional and regard the welfare of their kittens as their first priority. Check out their show pages for their wins and accomplishments! Very impressive!! I will NO DOUBT be doing the 10 hour drive to PA to adopt another DCFD kitten in the future."

"Having had several kinds of cats, I'm now convinced that Maine Coons are the best! Kyle grew up with Maine Coons, so he already knew this. As a pet lover, I've been impressed that most Maine Coon breeders truly care about their cats and are especially serious about raising healthy kittens. Adding a new pet to a family is a real pleasure when dealing with a breeder like you who obviously loves the cats. "Peggy & Kyle - MA (2015)
"Dear Chuck & Karen,I wanted to update you guys on how "Radar" (formerly Conan) is doing. What a wonderful little guy he is. Everyone in my family is amazed at how friendly he is. He is totally comfortable with everybody. The other day he let my 22 month old grandson hold him in his lap. (my other cats keep their distance from him!). You can tell Radar was well socialized. He has developed a friendship with our 13 year old cat Mikey. It's fun watching them chase each other. Thank's again for this wonderful kitty."Sincerely,Mark - PA (2015)
"Hewson (formerly Rowan) is doing well. He's happy and healthy. He is very affectionate, great cuddler, and a LOUD purrer... He climbs up my bathrobe in the morning when I'm getting ready (another favorite activity is draping toilet paper throughout the house). He is growing really fast. He really is such a lovely dovey, I am such a sucker for him...Hutch (my older one) wasn't this affectionate until he was 4 or 5. I really am just thrilled with him!!"
Michele - PA (2015)
"In early fall of 2013, I adopted my first DCFD Maine Coon from Chuck and Karen Buscavage. It is now early 2015 and I am thrilled to tell everyone that I am sharing my home with FOUR, yes FOUR, of DCFD’s magnificent and loving Maine Coons. I have adopted Blake, Claire, Cyrus, and Gaston, from Chuck and Karen throughout the past 17 months. I met Chuck and Karen and all their kitties in their home for the first time when I picked up my boy Blake. I left DCFD that day longing to have more of their wonderful cats in my life. Their strikingly large, gorgeous Maine Coons are of exceptional quality and their personalities reflect the genuine love and care they receive at DCFD. The regularly updated photo galleries on their website show their continuing love for each cat after they go to live in their forever homes. "
"Every interaction I have experienced with Chuck and Karen has truly been a pleasure. I can sit and talk with them for hours about their cats. Not only have I been blessed with these wonderful Maine Coons from DCFD, I have also gained a heartfelt friendship with Chuck and Karen. "

"After we lost our dear cat Maggie, we faced the difficult task of searching for new companions. This was made easier with the help of Karen and Chuck Buscavage. Karen and Chuck were so warm and welcoming from the first phone, to visiting our babies for the first time, and finally when we brought the kittens home. They showed us what a wonderful home they provide for all of their beautiful pets, or should we say family members. Their home is totally dedicated to all of their cats and dogs. We knew they were much more than animal breeders. They share a piece of their heart with all the animals they have and help bring into the world. Our Mia and Marlo are perfect examples of why we love Maine Coon cats. We are so happy we found the Buscavage's.

"If you are looking to adopt a Maine Coon look no further than DCFD Maine Coons. We had been looking to add a Maine Coon kitten to our family for quite a while and interviewed lots of breeders; Chuck and Karen were simply the best! They are wonderful caring upfront people who made adopting a kitten a great experience. We were Maine Coon “newbie’s” and had a lot of questions (some rather silly) before we made a commitment. They took the time to patiently answer each and every one and made sure we felt comfortable before moving ahead; no pressure, no exasperation. When we finally did decide to adopt they kept us posted every step of the way with lots of pictures and emails. We felt like we were right there with our “Nala” from birth up until the day we picked her up. Chuck and Karen really do have a passion for what they do and that shined through in the way they way the treated us. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to adopt a Maine Coon."

"I came to the Buscavages after I lost my precious Maine Coon, Rocky. Chuck was the only breeder that responded with sympathy first. This is indicative of the type of people that Chuck and Karen are. My cat is a year old and they still respond to questions and are eager for updates and pictures. They are good people.
During the time I was waiting for my kitten to be ready to leave his mother, they sent me weekly updates and wonderful pictures. He was an adorable kitten that has grown into a gorgeous animal. He gets a lot of attention wherever he is. His veterinarian made him "pet of the month." People are amazed at his beautiful, fluffy tail and his size. He's a big, healthy boy that loves to play.
Picking up our kitten from the Buscavages was a thrilling and impressive experience. They have a beautiful, immaculate home with a special area for the kittens. One whole wall in their home is full of show ribbons. We were particularly thrilled to see our kitten's parents. Talk about beautiful cats. You know that you are being handed a show quality animal. They provided us with detailed medical history on the kitten and the parents. It is fun to have such a handsome cat, but I care more about his temperament. He is a great companion. He always wants to be where the people are. He has certainly enhanced our lives."Connie and John - PA (2014)
"When my 15 yo orange Maine Coon passed away in December 2013, I didn't think I would look for another. That lasted for about a week, and then I knew I had to get another.I found out about DCFD Maine Coons online. I emailed Chuck and Karen, wondering about the availability of any kittens. I timed things well, as Nala was expecting later in January. Thankfully, I moved up the waiting list, and was able to get my beautiful Purry. Karen and Chuck were so wonderful to work with! I felt I had become a part of their family, with frequent updates and pictures keeping me involved, even though I was in Michigan. Within a week, with a few littermates still available, I decided to also purchase Kitty, Purry's sister. The Buscavages were very flexible in making pick-up arrangements. I was welcomed by all of their 4-footed friends, each eager for hugs and attention. It was easy to tell that all the animals are loved and cared for.Purry and Kitty are now 6 months old and a dear part of our family. They are friends with our two German Shepherds, and Kitty can frequently be found curled up with her canine brother. They are always interested when visitors come, and love our 10 month old grandson.I can't praise DCFD Maine Coons enough! Karen and Chuck are dedicated to raising family-friendly, loving, and gorgeous kittens, and placing them in loving forever families. I am grateful that I am blessed to be one of those families."Karma - MI (2014)
"Working with Karen and Chuck was a very positive experience every step of the way. The updates via pictures and emails let me get to know my baby before I brought him home. They raise their kittens underfoot and know each one's personality! The love for their fur family is evident as soon as you talk to them. When our pick up day came we were welcomed into their home, met the Mom and Dad, took pictures and met their beautiful family. Our little boy came to us very well socialized and acted like he has know us his all his life. We are grateful to have one of their babies as part of our lives and look forward to many happy years. Karen and Chuck certainly do it right!"

"My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Karen and Chuck where we found are perfect little girl who we named Arrosa. They were very helpful in explaining how they raise their kittens and answered all questions we had. We enjoyed visiting with their cats over a hot cup of coffee and meeting Arrosa's Mom and Dad and all the other furry friends. We are very impressed with how socialized Arrosa is and can tell that a lot of care and attention was given to her as well as the other pets in their home. We feel very lucky to have our beautiful girl since she had gone to another home originally that turned out to be the wrong fit for her. I was impressed that they were more interested in a happy home for Arrosa and took her back to insure her safety and happiness. They are quality people and I would not hesitate to adopt another kitten from them."Best Wishes

"I contacted DCFD in January of 2014 after our beloved Izzy passed and immediately felt comfortable talking to Chuck. He expressed sympathy for our loss and answered all my questions about his beautiful Maine Coons. I talked to Karen several weeks later about their expected litter. They are both very warm, loving people who have their babies best interest at heart. The personal contact and picture updates are amazing. Our cat felt like he was a part of our family from the fourth day after his birth. I would recommend Karen and Chuck to anyone who is interested in one of these special felines!"

"Every day is a little brighter and happier thanks to our sweet Clarinda having joined our family. She has fit in great since day one. As soon as we got home and let her out of the carrier, she just belonged. The whole family adores her, and she is so much fun to have around. And, to top it all off, she's downright gorgeous! I mean, let's face it, DCFD turns out beautiful cats. Just take a look at the galleries- it's one beautiful cat after another.
From the time she was reserved until we brought her home, we received constant pictures and updates. Chuck and Karen really get to know each kitten and their temperament and do everything they can to make you feel like a part of your kitten's life, even before you bring him or her home. And, what's more, they make a point of being there for you long after your kitten has joined the family. You never have to wait long for a response to any question or concern you may have. Truly wonderful breeders, who go above and beyond, both for their kittens and for their kittens' new families."

"We are well pleased with Rafael, our Maine Coon, who is the spitting image of his father. He has grown to a great size and is still only one year old. Rafael is very playful with our three dogs. The largest one has become his sleep partner as they cuddle up. Rafael even gets along with our parrot. We can walk him on a cat leash outside as he is very well mannered and not prone to run away. I would advise getting a sturdy cat tower as your Maine Coon Kitten will soon claim that as his/her own. Best of all perhaps is his attachment to his forever family. When I come home from a hard day’s work and need to relax a bit, there he comes, head bunting a bit and just very affectionate. He greets strangers well and is very curious as to what is in their bags. When the UPS brings a box, Rafael claims the box as his giant play toy.
He does have the look of the wild in his eyes (which is exactly what we wanted) but he is quite gentle.
We did have some rodent problems in the garage before we got the Maine Coon but they apparently opted to be frozen outside rather than meet Rafael in person. (I found their remains)
None of these wonderful memories would even be possible without the Buscavage's who were with us every step of the process. They made it all happen and were quite attentive to detail. We enjoyed the photos of all their kittens which get updated. I would say why not go for the best? Get a great looking Maine Coon from the Buscavage's and world class treatment. You will be very glad you did."

"It was in July of this year (2013) when I discovered DCFD Maine Coons and it just so happened they had a new litter of Maine Coon kittens which included a black male. I immediately contacted Karen and Chuck who were very informative and knowledgeable on the TICA standard Maine Coon. I was immediately comfortable in talking with them as I could tell they were very passionate about their cats.
I hope to bring another of Karen and Chuck’s Maine Coons into my life in the near future. They have the right plan in place to move this breed forward. I am very appreciative of their efforts in providing these opportunities for cat enthusiasts. Without people like Karen and Chuck, I would not be able to be blessed with these loving and devoted companions that are the Maine Coon."
Marcia - Georgia (2013)
"The DCFD cattery was our first experience with buying a Maine Coon kitten. Needless to say, we knew not what we were doing. Pictures were sent to us the minute we expressed interest in their kittens. From the time they were born until the day we picked her up, we were kept informed on her progress and sent pictures. We felt like we had watched her develop into the beautiful feline that we have today. These kittens are raised as their pets. They have the run of the house as ours does now. They are socialized to people, other cats and dogs. Our little girl is the first to greet visitors to our home ! When we brought Natasha home, we were given all the basics that we needed to continue the wonderful care that her mother and Arrowmist had provided her. I would recomend this incredible cattery to anyone who is interested in a friend for life."Sincerly, Bill & Rita - MA (2013)
"My husband and I purchased our baby girl from the DCFD cattery. I can't say in words how positive our experience was. From day one I was kept updated about the growth of our little one, what she was learning and picture updates so we could watch her change and grow. That made us feel like we were there watching her grow and change. When it came time to bring our girly home we wanted to pick her up and Karen made herself available to us for a day that fit into our schedule. We were provided with a start for food and her vet records. Our little one was very comfortable in our busy home and it was evident she was raised with love. She was able to accept our other cat and our birds without issue. I have passed on their name to others who may be interested in a Maine Coon Kitten. I feel they were very professional, loving, cared about our experience and our new babys experience."
Sincerely, Maxine - MA (2013)
"We started searching the day our beloved Rocky died. Of all the breeders we contacted, Chuck Buscavage was the only one who expressed sympathy over our loss. That gracious act told us we had found the people we wanted to work with.
Chuck and Karen continued to stand out among other breeders. They are developing a line of Maine Coons that is beyond compare. They have a wall in their beautiful home that is full of championship ribbons. We were encouraged to interact with the parents of our kitty. Absolutely gorgeous cats.
I cared more about temperate of my new buddy than I cared about appearance. I hope I can still say that with honesty because although he has a gentle, affectionate temperate, he is also a handsome animal. It is hard not to take pride in this beautiful cat.
Working with Karen and Chuck was a sincere pleasure. They are serious professionals that take the time to provide a loving, fun environment for their kittens. They made the wait more bearable by sending updates and photos. My favorite photo is so good that I had it framed.
When pick up day arrived we were full of anticipation and definitely not disappointed. They were very thoughtful in the paperwork they provided. Our vet was appreciative of their thoroughness. We were handed what I feel certain was the finest cat they ever bred. (I am sure all their customers feel the same). He is healthy, playful, affectionate, and the cutest thing I have ever seen. As I write this you can attribute the mistakes to Custer who is on my lap "helping" me to type.
Bringing Custer home was not the end of the support we received from Karen and Chuck. They have been absolutely available to answer questions and to simply share in our fun."

"We purchased a Maine Coon kitten in April 2013 from the DCFD Maine Coons Cattery. We had a wonderful experience from picking out the kitten from picking up the kitten at a meeting place. The kitten was in good health and had all the paperwork for the purebred kitten. We named our kitten "Vinnie" and we have enjoyed the kitten so much we are going to be purchasing another Maine Coon kitten from the same breeders. We also have a very good working relationship that has continued past the sale of the kitten. When asking the breeder many questions that have come up since getting the kitten. I have always received prompt and quick answers to my questions regarding the care of the kitten, which I have appreciated very much. I can tell from my experience with these breeders that they are in this business due to the love of the breed and not for any other reason. We have enjoyed learning about the Maine Coon breed and love our Vinnie so much. We would recommend these breeders to anyone who wants knowledgeable and caring people to buy their kitten from."

"I purchased a Classic Brown Tabby female kittie from Karen & Chuck Buscavage. I could write volumes on the entire process, because from the beginning to end, these people were wonderful. I don't even know them, even to this day, but they took care of everything for me. My previous Maine Coon had gone to heaven and I was searching on line for almost two years for a brown classic tabby female, and one day outta the clear blue I got an email stating they had a Brown Classic Tabby (girl). We spoke on the phone many times and also emailed back & forth. As time got closer, we had to figure out how we'd get the baby to me. The kittie was born in Denver, PA & I was in Western North Carolina for the summer. We traveled down many roads but nothing was working out. Finally Chuck told me of this Pet Transport service so he set it all up and I had my baby girl within the week. I don't know if they put them in kittie kindergarten or what but this is the smartest cat I have ever had. Don't get me wrong, all Maine Coons are smart, but this girl is genius level. If she could talk, she would. She has the best personality, she thinks I'm her mother, she's extremely affectionate, loves to play fetch & peekaboo and doesn't drive me crazy meowing. She trills like a little bird, all the time. What else can I say, the entire adoption process was a "Class Act." I highly recommend this cattery. The cats are of the highest quality, and she was worth waiting for. My husband passed away a year ago March, & it feels like his spirit is alive in her. She will not let me out of her sight, and sleeps on my chest all night so I can't get away from her."Nancy - Florida (2013)
